BEVERLY HILLS, California – The 2024 Golden Globe Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton, honoring outstanding achievements in television and film. This year’s ceremony was hosted by comedian Jo Koy. The event marked the first Golden Globe Awards since the Hollywood Foreign Press Association disbanded following a series of scandals. The assets of the Golden Globes were sold to Dick Clark Productions, which had previously co-produced the show with the HFPA.
“Barbie” and “Succession” tied for the most nominations, with nine each. “Barbie” was nominated for Best Musical or Comedy Motion Picture, while “Succession” competed in the Best Television Drama Series category. “Oppenheimer,” the other half of the box office phenomenon known as Barbenheimer, received eight nominations, including Best Drama Motion Picture.
The ceremony was broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ and the CBS app. CBS and Paramount+ are both owned by Paramount Global, which also owns CBS News.
