Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan Faces Release Clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan on Eid 2024

Mumbai, India – Ajay Devgn’s highly anticipated period sports drama, Maidaan, has secured a new release date. The film is now set to hit theaters in April 2024, coinciding with the Eid festival. However, this date has already been reserved by Pooja Entertainment for the release of Ali Abbas Zafar’s buddy action movie, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.

The announcement regarding Maidaan’s release date was made by film trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Sunday. He took to his social media handle to reveal that the movie will be released in April 2024 on Eid. Directed by Amit Sharma and co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios, Maidaan is a sports drama that pays tribute to the golden era of Indian football.

In Maidaan, Ajay Devgn portrays the role of the legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is widely recognized as the founding father of Indian football. Rahim served as the coach and manager of the Indian football team from 1950 until his death in 1963. The film also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh in pivotal roles.

The production of Maidaan faced numerous hurdles due to the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters. In 2020, the film set had to be dismantled due to the nationwide lockdown. Additionally, in May 2021, the set was destroyed by Cyclone Tauktae.

Meanwhile, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. The film’s teaser is scheduled to be unveiled on January 24. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan marks the first collaboration between Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar and has been extensively shot in Scotland, London, India, and the UAE.

Ajay Devgn is not only facing a clash with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan but also with his own film Singham Again. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Singham Again is set to release on Independence Day, which coincides with the release date of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule.

It remains to be seen how these clashes between highly anticipated films will impact their box office performance and audience reception. Fans of Ajay Devgn and Bollywood enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the release of Maidaan to witness the inspiring story of Syed Abdul Rahim unfold on the big screen.
