Anna Faris Joins Cast of Andrew Niccol’s I, Object in Exclusive Announcement

Los Angeles, CA – Anna Faris has been cast in the upcoming film “I, Object,” directed by Andrew Niccol. The announcement was made at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. Faris will be taking over the role that was previously held by Melanie Lynskey. The film also features Karl Urban, Thomasin McKenzie, and Jemaine Clement.

“I, Object” is a live-action/animation hybrid that tells the story of Tom, a 10-year-old boy who is grieving the loss of his father. He finds solace in inanimate objects, which come to life and help him on his healing journey.

The film is a co-production between Canada’s Good Question Media and New Zealand’s Southern Light Films. The Exchange presented the project to buyers at Cannes, with CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group handling domestic distribution.

Anna Faris is well-known for her roles in the “Scary Movie” franchise and comedies like “The Dictator” and “Just Friends.” She has also appeared in acclaimed films such as “Brokeback Mountain” and “Lost in Translation.” Faris starred in the Emmy-winning sitcom “Mom” alongside Allison Janney and will next be seen in Amazon’s “My Spy: The Eternal City.”

Faris is represented by CAA and Robert Offer at Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
