Barbie Dominates Nominations for 2024 People’s Choice Awards

Los Angeles, California – The film “Barbie” has received the highest number of nominations for the 2024 People’s Choice Awards. Directed by Greta Gerwig, the movie has been recognized in nine different categories. Its counterpart, “Oppenheimer,” also received six nominations.

Other notable film nominees include “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” In the television categories, “Only Murders in the Building” leads with seven nominations, followed by “Ted Lasso,” “The Morning Show,” and “The Last of Us,” each with six nominations.

The music nominations highlight artists such as Luke Combs, Nicki Minaj, Morgan Wallen, and Taylor Swift, all of whom are up for five awards. Taylor Swift’s concert film, “The Eras Tour,” is also nominated for Movie of the Year.

Simu Liu, who plays one of the Kens in “Barbie,” will be hosting this year’s People’s Choice Awards. The event will be broadcast live on February 18th at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Additionally, the “Live From E!: People’s Choice Awards” red carpet event will kick off the night at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT on E!

Liu expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host the awards and is looking forward to celebrating the year in pop culture with fans. He has previous hosting experience, having presented the Juno Awards and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ SciTech Awards.

Voting for the People’s Choice Awards is now open in 45 categories representing movies, television, music, and pop culture. Fans can vote online at www.votepca.com until January 19th at 11:59 p.m. ET.
