Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Join Forces for Netflix’s Crime Thriller ‘Animals’

Los Angeles, California – Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have announced their latest collaboration, a new crime thriller titled “Animals,” which has been acquired by Netflix. This exciting project will see Affleck directing and Damon starring in the film. If all goes well, production could begin in Los Angeles as early as March.

The crime thriller, written by Connor McIntyre with revisions by Billy Ray, centers around a mayoral candidate and his wife whose son is kidnapped. In a desperate attempt to save their child, the couple finds themselves immersed in a dark and dangerous underworld, battling their enemies, both political and personal.

Affleck and Damon will not only be lending their acting talents to the film but also serving as producers through their company, Artists Equity. They will be joined by producer Dani Bernfeld from the same company, as well as Brad Weston and Collin Creighton from MakeReady banner. Fifth Season, a production, sales, and distribution company, previously known as Endeavor Content, will also be involved in producing the film.

This collaboration is not the first for Affleck and Damon, who have been lifelong friends and creative partners. In recent years, they launched Artists Equity, an artist-led studio that aims to provide financial rewards to all participants in a film. Their previous project, “Air,” received critical acclaim and marked the debut of their studio.

Affleck, known for his directing prowess, has helmed successful films such as the Academy Award-winning “Argo” and the ensemble crime thriller “The Town.” Meanwhile, Damon has been making waves in the industry, with upcoming roles in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” and Ethan Coen’s “Drive-Away Dolls.”

Represented by WME and Ziffren Brittenham, Affleck and Damon continue to captivate audiences with their talent and dedication to their craft. With “Animals,” their latest endeavor promises to deliver another thrilling and unforgettable cinematic experience.
