Budget Concerns Cast Doubt on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Season 2, Says Star Tatiana Maslany

Los Angeles, California – Tatiana Maslany, star of the hit Disney+ series “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” has expressed doubts about the possibility of a second season due to budget concerns. Speaking during a Twitch livestream, Maslany indicated that she doesn’t believe Disney or Marvel are interested in continuing the show beyond its initial season.

Maslany’s comments came as a response to a question about the likelihood of a Season 2. She responded simply by saying, “I don’t think so.” She went on to suggest that financial constraints may be the reason behind this decision, stating, “I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks.'”

While details about the budgets for Marvel Cinematic Universe TV shows such as “Hawkeye,” “Loki,” and “Wandavision” have not been officially announced by Disney, earlier reports have shed light on the production costs. According to Variety, a single episode of “She-Hulk” came with a hefty price tag of $25 million. Comparatively, final season episodes of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” cost around $15 million each. These figures highlight the substantial investment made in the superhero series.

“She-Hulk” follows the protagonist Jennifer Walters, who transforms into her alter ego after being exposed to her cousin Bruce Banner’s (Hulk’s) blood. As a result, a significant amount of screen time is dedicated to the CGI-intensive She-Hulk form, likely contributing to the show’s high production costs.

Although the show has been received positively by fans and critics alike, the uncertain future of a second season raises questions about the direction Disney and Marvel will take. The distinct blend of superhero narrative and sitcom format in “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” has resonated with viewers, as IGN’s 8/10 review noted.

As of now, the fate of “She-Hulk” remains unknown. While fans may hope for a continuation of the series, budgetary concerns could potentially halt any plans for a Season 2.
