Christian Dior and Coco Chanel Clash in Captivating Trailer for Apple TV+ Series ‘The New Look’

PARIS – Ben Mendelsohn takes on the role of Christian Dior in the upcoming Apple TV+ series “The New Look”, set during the Nazi occupation of Paris in World War II. The 10-episode historical drama explores the intertwined stories of Dior, Coco Chanel (played by Juliette Binoche), and other fashion contemporaries as they navigate the horrors of war and revolutionize modern fashion. Created, written, directed, and executive produced by Todd A. Kessler, the series reunites Mendelsohn with his “Bloodline” showrunner.

In the trailer for the show, tension between Dior and Chanel is palpable as they vie for dominance in the fashion world. Chanel, feeling threatened by Dior’s rise to prominence, declares, “Christian Dior ruined French couture, and I’m coming back to save it.” The trailer also features John Malkovich as Lucien Lelong, warning Dior of Chanel’s treachery.

“The New Look” showcases Dior’s designs and the process of creating them, highlighting the impact of Parisian couture on the lives of ordinary women. The series was filmed exclusively in Paris and also stars Maisie Williams, Emily Mortimer, Claes Bang, and Glenn Close.

Premiering with three episodes on Feb. 14, “The New Look” will continue with one episode a week every Wednesday until April 3 on Apple TV+.
