Damaging Bank Records Expose Fulton DA’s Alleged Improper Relationship Amid Racketeering Case

Atlanta, Georgia – The divorce proceedings of former President Donald Trump’s top prosecutor, Nathan Wade, and his wife, Joycelyn Wade, have taken a dramatic turn, revealing alleged financial improprieties and a contentious relationship between Wade and Fulton County’s District Attorney, Fani Willis. The revelations have caused upheaval in Fulton’s racketeering case against Trump and 14 other defendants, with one defendant seeking to disqualify Willis and her office due to her alleged personal relationship with Wade.

Joycelyn Wade’s attorneys have requested a deposition of Willis, but the District Attorney has filed a motion to quash the subpoena. In response, Joycelyn Wade’s lawyers have criticized Willis’ attempt to avoid giving sworn testimony, dismissing her arguments as disingenuous and specious.

The divorce case has produced bank records from Nathan Wade’s Capital One account, revealing various expenditures. These records show that Wade purchased American Airlines tickets for himself, Willis, and Clara Bowman, believed to be his mother, for a trip to Miami. He also paid for Royal Caribbean Cruises and Vacation Express. It is unclear who took the cruises or stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Aruba. Additionally, Wade bought Delta Air Lines tickets to San Francisco and a stay at the DoubleTree hotel in Napa Valley.

Allegations of a romantic relationship between Wade and Willis were first made by a defense attorney in the Trump case, implying that Willis financially benefited from Wade’s expenses. Roman, a Trump campaign operative and defendant in the case, has requested the charges against him to be dismissed and for Willis and her office to be removed from the case.

The disclosure of Nathan Wade’s bank records seems to support some of the allegations in Roman’s motion. Clark Cunningham, a law professor at Georgia State University, suggests that Willis should consider stepping aside from the election interference prosecution, allowing one of her chief deputies to take over and decide whether to continue working with Wade. This decision would address concerns about public confidence and potential disruption if the motion to disqualify Willis is granted.

The proceedings in the divorce case have intensified, with Joycelyn Wade’s attorneys serving Willis with a subpoena for her deposition. Willis has fired back, seeking to quash the subpoena and accusing Joycelyn Wade of using the divorce case to obstruct and interfere with the ongoing criminal prosecution. Willis also claims that the Wades’ marriage broke down due to Joycelyn’s alleged adulterous relationship.

Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis has written to Willis, requesting an explanation for the revelations and possible misuse of county money. The divorce case is being presided over by Cobb County Superior Court Judge Henry Thompson, who will decide whether Willis must sit for the deposition. Thompson also has requests from news media organizations to unseal the Wades’ divorce file.

The developments in Nathan and Joycelyn Wade’s divorce case have left many questioning the integrity of the legal proceedings and the potential impact on the larger Trump prosecution. As the controversy unfolds, attention will turn to the decisions and actions of District Attorney Fani Willis and whether she can maintain public trust in her role as the prosecutor.
