Donald Glover Confirms Completed Script for Highly Anticipated ‘Community’ Movie

Los Angeles, California – Donald Glover has provided an exciting update on the long-awaited Community movie. During the New York premiere of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the actor and musician revealed that the project is still in progress and a completed script is already in existence. Although Glover hasn’t had the chance to read it yet, he expressed his unwavering commitment to the endeavor. The film will bring together original cast members Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong, along with series creator Dan Harmon. Andrew Guest and McHale will also serve as executive producers. The fans’ fervent desire for a Community movie was reignited in 2022, when Peacock announced its development, almost a decade after the show concluded. As part of the deal, Peacock is also acquiring the rights to the entire Community series library. Susan Rovner, Chairman of Entertainment Content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, expressed gratitude for the upcoming movie and the opportunity to deliver it to fans. Glover initially pitched the idea of a Community movie during a virtual reunion in May 2020, marking his return to the show since his departure after season 5. In the meantime, viewers can catch Glover in Prime Video’s reimagining of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, starring alongside Maya Erskine. The series will put a new spin on the 2005 action comedy film, following two newly paired undercover agents pretending to be a happily married couple. The episodes of Mr. & Mrs. Smith will be available for streaming on Prime Video from February 1.
