Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts Pops Finger, Uncertain for Wild-Card Playoff Game

Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered an unfortunate injury to his right middle finger during Sunday’s game, leaving many fans and spectators cringing at the sight of the disfigured digit. Hurts revealed that his finger had “popped out,” causing concern about his availability for the upcoming wild-card playoff game against Tampa Bay on Monday.

Describing the incident as a “crazy thing,” Hurts admitted that he had never experienced anything like it before. Following the 27-10 loss to the New York Giants, the quarterback had his middle and pointer finger wrapped in gauze, indicating the severity of the injury.

During the second quarter, Hurts entered the medical tent after striking his hand on Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke during a fourth-and-three attempt. Despite the injury, Hurts continued to play for the next three series before coach Nick Sirianni decided to rest the starters.

Although Sirianni did not provide a definite update on Hurts’ status for the upcoming game, he praised the quarterback’s resilience and determination. Hurts demonstrated his toughness by returning to the field and finishing the game, even after sustaining the injury. However, Sirianni acknowledged that the medical staff would need to assess the situation further.

Following the injury, Hurts struggled to regain his rhythm, completing only one out of four passes for eight yards and throwing an interception. He also faced two sacks, contributing to a challenging performance. Ultimately, Hurts concluded the game with a 7-for-16 record, gaining a total of 55 yards.

As Hurts remains “day to day” with the finger injury, the Eagles and their fans anxiously await updates on his condition. Should Hurts be unable to play in the wild-card playoff game against Tampa Bay, the Eagles will have to rely on backup options to lead the team onto the field.
