The Fox drama series “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” is set to return for its second season with some exciting new casting news. Two familiar faces will be joining the show, bringing fresh drama and intrigue to the popular procedural.

Gil Bellows, known for his role in “Ally McBeal,” and Alisha-Marie Ahamed, who previously appeared in “Family Law,” have been cast in major roles for the upcoming season. The second season is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, March 5.

Ahamed will be taking on the series-regular role of Wayne Pascal, a master hacker who is serving a house arrest sentence in a dingy motel. Despite her legal troubles, Jason (played by Scott Caan) recruits Wayne to help out the team. Interestingly, Jason never revealed to his ex-wife Nikki (Dania Ramirez) that Wayne is a woman, adding an unexpected twist to their working relationship.

Bellows, on the other hand, will have a recurring guest-starring role as Inspector Hollis Braun, Nikki and Jason’s new superior. Inspector Braun is determined to keep their sometimes reckless behavior in check, adding a new dynamic to the team.

For those who need a refresher, “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” is set in the Philadelphia PD’s Missing Persons Unit. Each episode follows the dedicated detectives Jason Grant and Nikki Batista as they search for missing individuals. The personal connection to these cases is particularly strong for Jason and Nikki, as their own young son disappeared and was never found.

Joining Ahamed and Bellows in the cast are Ryan Broussard as Mike Sherman, Nikki’s fiancĂ© who is still planning their wedding, and Adeola Role as Kemi Adebayo, a spiritually savvy detective. Additionally, Petey Gibson will return for at least one episode as forensic anthropologist C.
