NEW YORK CITY – Lindsay Lohan made a surprise appearance at the premiere of “Mean Girls” in New York City on Monday night, looking stunning as ever. The original star of the film joined writer-producer Tina Fey and Angourie Rice, who takes on Lohan’s role in the movie musical. The event also saw the presence of original cast members Daniel Franzese and Rajiv Surrendra.
When asked about potential cameo appearances in the film, Fey teased, “I couldn’t possibly say, but we do have some fun cameos. Ashley Park is in the movie, Tim [Meadows] is in the movie — we have some fun influencer friends. But you’ll just have to come see it this Friday.”
The premiere, held at AMC Lincoln Square Theater, was attended by a number of “Mean Girls” stars and creative team members. Among them were Reneé Rapp, Christopher Briney, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Avantika, Bebe Wood, Busy Philipps, Jon Hamm, choreographer Kyle Hanagami, DoP Bill Kirstein, and co-directors Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Payne.
Perez Jr. and Payne shared their experience of translating the character of Regina George from Broadway to the big screen, emphasizing the personalization of the role. “So just making it intimate and making it hers, and I cannot wait for people to see what she did,” said Payne.
“Mean Girls” hits theaters this Friday, offering fans a chance to relive the iconic story once again.
