Fantastic Four Script Undergoing Rewrites with Talented Writers Before Filming Starts

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated film, “Fantastic Four,” is facing script rewrites as production delays push back the start of filming to the third quarter of this year. While no specific reasons were given for the setback, recent reports suggest that script revisions are underway with the addition of writers Michael Weber and Scott Neustadter. The acclaimed duo, known for their work on “The Disaster Artist” and “The Fault in Our Stars,” have been brought on to fine-tune the screenplay before shooting commences.

It remains unclear the extent of the rewrites and how they will impact the overall story. However, according to insider Daniel Richtman, the revised script is expected to be completed within a month or so. Despite the changes, the cast appears to be locked in, with Pedro Pascal set to portray Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic. Joining Pascal are Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.

While rumors have surfaced about Cillian Murphy and Mads Mikkelsen potentially playing the infamous Doctor Doom, no official announcements have been made. Additionally, sources suggest that Doctor Doom may only appear in a post-credits scene, but his significance in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe cannot be underestimated, especially after recent news of Marvel severing ties with Jonathan Majors, who played Kang.

Furthermore, rumors circulate that Javier Bardem could be cast as Galactus, the devourer of worlds, although scheduling conflicts may hinder his involvement. It is believed that Galactus’ herald, the Silver Surfer, will be portrayed as a female character, with Anya Taylor-Joy reportedly being considered for the role.

Directed by Matt Shakman, “Fantastic Four” aims to deliver a fresh take on the superhero team without rehashing their origin story. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige expressed the desire to bring something new and unprecedented to the screen, akin to the success of integrating Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the film undergoes script revisions, fans eagerly await the revelation of this unique rendition of the beloved characters.
