Harry Potter TV Series Gains Momentum as Writers Pitch Ideas for Max Streaming Service

London, United Kingdom – The Harry Potter television series is one step closer to becoming a reality. In April, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that a series based on the beloved wizarding world would be coming to its streaming service Max. Now, the project is heating up as writers compete for the opportunity to adapt J.K. Rowling’s famous books.

According to sources, a group of writers including Martha Hillier, Kathleen Jordan, Tom Moran, and Michael Lesslie are presenting their pitches to Max and Warner Bros. Television. The writers were commissioned by Max to create pitches reflecting their unique visions for the series.

The initial round of pitch meetings took place in Los Angeles and the top choices will move on to the next round in the UK. It is unclear how involved J.K. Rowling has been in the process, but as the executive producer of the series, she is expected to have a role in the decision-making.

Max is open to the possibility of involving multiple writers and developing more than one idea for the Harry Potter series. However, sources caution that the project is still in its early stages.

The Harry Potter series will be produced by Brontë Film and TV, chaired by Rowling’s agent Neil Blair, and Warner Bros Television. Ruth Kenley-Letts and David Heyman, who produced the movies, are set to executive produce the series.

Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav previously stated that the Harry Potter series on Max will span over a decade, offering fans a continuous viewing experience. The Wizarding World franchise has already reached vast commercial success, with retail stores, theme parks, a stage play, and a multi-billion-dollar feature film franchise.

The development of the Harry Potter television series has been kept under wraps until now. With the recent announcement, the Blair Partnership will work with Max to further the project. The global audience eagerly awaits the new series, which is sure to bring the magical world of Harry Potter to life once again.
