Jerusalem – Iranian and Arab analysts are suggesting that Israel is not emerging victorious in the ongoing conflict in Gaza. They argue that signs of Jewish emigration indicate a future in which the entire region becomes Palestine. However, while Israel has not yet achieved a definitive victory, recent trends suggest that the Jewish state is gaining the upper hand.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah claimed that every Israeli citizen has a second nationality and their bags ready to leave. He stated that mass Jewish emigration has already begun and urged Israelis to return to their ancestral countries. Nasrallah’s remarks came amidst Israeli attacks that have claimed the lives of top Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hamas, and Hezbollah officers, debilitating the enemy’s public life.
Nasrallah’s speech was delivered in commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the assassination of top IRGC leader Qassem Soleimani. His remarks followed Israel’s recent airstrikes that killed 11 high-ranking IRGC officers and eliminated several senior Hamas leaders in Gaza. Furthermore, Israel successfully targeted Hamas’ number two leader and six other senior officials during a meeting in Beirut.
The Israeli military’s surgical strikes, intelligence capabilities, and military superiority have weakened Iran’s allies. Nasrallah admitted that without America’s military aid and deterrence, Israel would have been defeated. Iran and its allies, lacking conventional military power, have resorted to threatening an “all-out war.” However, their threats have not translated into action.
In Gaza, Israel’s continuous attacks have weakened Hamas. The Israeli military has destroyed numerous Hamas tunnels and gained control over Palestinian territories. With an estimated 170 soldiers lost since the invasion began in October, Israel has demonstrated its commitment to eroding Hamas’ capabilities. If current trends persist, Hamas will be too weak to mount attacks, and its leaders may seek refuge abroad.
While Israel appears to be gaining the upper hand, the government must now focus on transitioning from military victory to diplomatic engagement. Building partnerships with Arab and Palestinian stakeholders is crucial in ensuring lasting peace and prosperity in Gaza. The aim should be to prevent the region from becoming a terrorist stronghold once again.
In summary, despite not achieving a conclusive victory yet, Israel’s recent actions suggest that it is prevailing over its enemies in the Gaza conflict. Decisive military strikes have significantly weakened Iran’s allies, while the Israeli military has successfully targeted high-ranking officers. As Hamas continues to be weakened and its leaders come under increasing pressure, Israel’s dominance in the region becomes more evident.
