Jenny Slate Joins Michelle Williams in FX’s ‘Dying for Sex’ Limited Series

Los Angeles, California: Jenny Slate has been cast as the lead opposite Michelle Williams in “Dying for Sex,” a limited series from FX. The show is based on the hit Wondery podcast of the same name and is being developed by writers Liz Meriwether and Kim Rosenstock, director Leslye Headland, and 20th Television.

“Dying for Sex” tells the story of Molly, played by Williams, who is diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. As she faces her mortality, Molly decides to explore her sexuality and leaves her husband of 15 years. Slate’s character, Nikki, Molly’s best friend, supports and accompanies her on this journey.

Nikki is described as joyful and life-affirming, agreeing to be Molly’s caretaker throughout the adventure. Meriwether and Rosenstock will serve as showrunners for the series and executive produce alongside Headland and Katherine Pope, a longtime collaborator of Meriwether.

Slate, known for her work on “Saturday Night Live” and her voice acting roles, has been involved in creative projects such as the Oscar-nominated film “Marcel The Shell With Shoes On” and A24’s “Everything Everywhere All At Once.” She will also be seen in her new comedy special, “Jenny Slate: Seasoned Professional,” premiering on Prime Video on February 23.

The actress is represented by CAA, Linden Entertainment, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.
