Joe Gorga Ejected from Son’s Wrestling Match as He Confronts Referee in Fiery Incident

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (AP) — “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Joe Gorga was ejected from his son Gino’s wrestling match over the weekend after nearly getting into a brawl with the high school referee. Video obtained by TMZ shows Gorga launching himself from the bleachers of the Parsippany Hills High School gym after Gino’s match ended with him being pinned to the floor.

Before Gorga could reach the referee, school staffers and parents intervened to prevent any physical altercation. The referee continuously blew his whistle until Gorga was led out of the athletic facility. Once Gorga exited the gym, the wrestling match proceeded without further incident.

According to a representative for Gorga, he believed the referee made unfair calls during the match and felt Gino’s opponent was mistreating him. However, the representative stated that Gorga did not intend to hurt anyone or get physical, attributing his behavior to letting his emotions get the best of him. Gorga is said to be “proud” of Gino’s behavior despite the outburst.

Gorga’s wife, Melissa Gorga, did not attend the match. Gino, on the other hand, seemed unfazed by his father’s behavior as he posted photos from his wrestling match on Instagram.

In the aftermath of the incident, Gorga and Melissa attended the premiere of Kevin Hart’s new Netflix movie, “Lift,” in New York City.
