Los Angeles, CA – Kurt Russell, the famous actor, found himself caught up in the notorious 1994 police chase involving O.J. Simpson, according to his stepchildren Kate and Oliver Hudson. During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the Hudson siblings shared stories about their stepdad’s knack for finding himself in unusual situations.
According to Kate and Oliver, Russell, who was watching the NBA Finals at a friend’s house that night, suddenly announced that Simpson was heading home as the chase unfolded on live television. The siblings recalled their surprise at seeing their father in the background on the news coverage.
This wasn’t the first time Russell had found himself entangled in high-profile events. Oliver shared that Russell had once encountered one of Charles Manson’s followers, whom he had allegedly “beat up.” Additionally, Russell had crossed paths with serial killer Ted Bundy when he escaped from a courthouse in 1977.
Kate and Oliver’s mother is actress Goldie Hawn, but Russell has been in a longtime relationship with Hawn since 1983. He helped raise Kate and Oliver, and the couple also has a son together, Wyatt Russell.
The O.J. Simpson case captivated the nation in 1994 when Simpson, a former football star, was accused of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman. Simpson was acquitted in 1995, although he later released a book called “If I Did It” in 2007. The trial was fictionalized in the TV series “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson,” with Cuba Gooding Jr. portraying Simpson.
While Kate admitted she may not fully believe all of Russell’s stories, she found them intriguing. The Hudson siblings shared these anecdotes to highlight their stepdad’s uncanny ability to cross paths with notorious personalities.
