Lopez vs. Lopez Season 2 Premiere Date Announced by NBC, Setting the Stage for Night Court and Extended Family Finales

Lopez vs. Lopez, the George Lopez comedy, is set to return for its second season on NBC this spring. The network recently announced that the 10-episode sophomore run of the show will premiere on April 2 at 8/7c, with two episodes airing back-to-back. Subsequent episodes will air every Tuesday. Additionally, the show will be available for streaming on Peacock the day after it airs on NBC.

Leading up to the return of Lopez vs. Lopez, current Tuesday night comedies Night Court and Extended Family will wrap up their seasons on March 26. This will make way for the second season premiere of Lopez vs. Lopez.

Described as a “hilarious and heartwarming comedy,” Lopez vs. Lopez tells the story of a working-class old-school Latino who moves in with his modern Gen Z daughter (played by Lopez’s real-life daughter, Mayan Lopez) as they work on rebuilding their dysfunctional relationship one argument at a time. The show explores the clash of old vs. new, father vs. daughter, and of course, Lopez vs. Lopez.

The first season of Lopez vs. Lopez received positive feedback and ended on a dramatic note, delving into the main character’s struggle with alcoholism and setting up a sobriety storyline for the upcoming season. The show has also lined up some notable guest stars for season 2, including comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, who will portray George’s fun-loving AA sponsor, and Diana Maria Riva, known for her role in Dead to Me, who will play Olga, a tough negotiator. Retired NFL running back Marshawn Lynch will also make an appearance as Marshawn, a brutally honest sideline reporter.

The ensemble cast of Lopez vs. Lopez includes Selenis Leyva as George’s ex-wife Rosie, Matt Shively as Mayan’s boyfriend Quintin, Brice Gonzalez as Mayan and Quintin’s son Chance, and Al Madrigal as George’s employee and best friend Oscar.

While the first season of Lopez vs. Lopez is available for streaming on Netflix, there is no confirmation yet whether the second season will be made available on the platform at a later date.

Fans of the show can look forward to the return of Lopez vs. Lopez this spring, as it continues to bring laughter and heartfelt moments to the screen.
