Loren Allred’s Journey: From ‘The Greatest Showman’ to ‘America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League’

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – Millions of people have been moved by the powerful voice of Loren Allred. This former Utah resident gained recognition for her vocals in the hit song “Never Enough” from the film “The Greatest Showman”. Despite her musical success, Allred remains largely unknown to the public due to her absence from the limelight. Rebecca Ferguson, the star of “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” lip-synced Allred’s vocals in the movie, as reported by the Deseret News.

During her appearance on the 2022 season of “Britain’s Got Talent”, Allred expressed her desire to be recognized not only for her voice but also for her face. Allred, a graduate of Cottonwood High School in Utah, received praise from Simon Cowell, one of the judges. He questioned why she didn’t secure a big record deal after singing one of the biggest songs of all time. Allred admitted that she preferred singing behind the scenes but felt that she was now ready to step into the spotlight and reveal her identity.

Over a year later, Allred continues her journey in the “Got Talent” franchise by participating in “AGT: Fantasy League.” She was selected to be part of Simon Cowell’s dream team, which comprises 10 acts from past seasons of “AGT.” Allred made her debut on the show and reflected on her humble beginnings as a 24-year-old waitress when she was approached by the songwriters of “The Greatest Showman” to sing the demo for “Never Enough.” This emotional audition clip, with over 1 million views on YouTube, showcases Allred’s aspiration to share her talent with the world.

While Allred received due credit for her contribution to “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack, she felt that her identity as the voice behind “Never Enough” went largely unnoticed. In a quest for recognition, Allred first turned to “Britain’s Got Talent,” where she left a lasting impression by earning the golden buzzer and advancing to the semifinals.

Now, on the “AGT: Fantasy League” stage, Allred performs an updated version of “Never Enough.” The 34-year-old singer hopes that this rendition will propel her career towards Broadway and allow her to release her own albums. Her performance received praise from the judges and audience alike, fueling her belief that she is moving in the right direction.

Allred is no stranger to reality competition shows, having appeared on “The Voice” in 2012 under the mentorship of Adam Levine. However, that experience was mentally exhausting for her as an introverted person constantly under high anxiety. In contrast, her participation on “Britain’s Got Talent” proved to be a positive shift and a stepping stone for her career.

Aside from her talent show ventures, Allred has collaborated with Michael Buble, toured with Andrea Bocelli, and even released her own single after her successful run on “BGT.” With her newfound recognition, Allred aspires to fulfill her dreams and solidify her place in the music industry.

In Monday night’s episode of “AGT: Fantasy League,” Allred was among the five acts advancing to the semifinals. The top 10 acts will then compete for a grand prize of $250,000.

As Allred’s journey continues on “AGT: Fantasy League,” she remains determined to achieve the recognition she deserves as both a vocalist and performer. Her story serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and the pursuit of one’s dreams.
