London, England – Love Island, the popular reality TV show, is set to bring back some fan-favorite contestants for an upcoming All Stars edition. Georgia Harrison, Kaz Kamwi, and Toby Aromolaran are among the former Love Islanders who will get another chance at love in this special spin-off series. The show will be filmed in South Africa and will be hosted by main presenter Maya Jama.
The announcement comes as the original Love Island show has experienced a decline in ratings, with the first episode of the last summer series attracting over a million viewers less than the previous year. In an effort to regain viewership, the producers have decided to bring back familiar faces who have captured the hearts of fans in previous seasons.
One of the returning contestants, Georgia Harrison, who appeared on season three in 2017, expressed her excitement about the opportunity to have some fun and potentially find love in the villa. Her previous experience on Love Island has seen her become known for her advocacy work on women’s safety. Last year, her ex-partner Stephen Bear was jailed for sharing intimate footage of her online.
Kaz Kamwi, another familiar face from the 2021 summer series, will also be joining the All Stars lineup. Kaz, who was initially coupled up with Toby Aromolaran on the show, formed a close bond with her best friend Liberty Poole, who will also be participating in the upcoming series. Kaz mentioned that she has grown more confident in herself and has a clear idea of what she wants from a relationship.
Other former Love Islanders joining the All Stars edition include Chris Taylor, Georgia Steele, Anton Danyluk, Hannah Elizabeth, Demi Jones, Jake Cornish, and Luis Morrison. Each of them brings their own unique experiences and stories to the show.
Love Island has faced increasing competition from new reality dating shows, such as BBC Three’s I Kissed a Boy, the UK’s first gay dating show. The show has also come under scrutiny in recent times for its contestant care protocols, following the tragic deaths of two former islanders. Producers have made efforts to improve inclusivity, such as providing audio descriptions of appearances and outfits for visually impaired fans.
Love Island All Stars is set to air on ITV2 on January 15th.
