Houston, Texas – The University of Michigan Wolverines claimed the national championship title after a season filled with controversy and adversity. In a resounding 34-13 victory over the Washington Huskies, Michigan showed their dominance on the field.
This triumph marks Michigan’s first national title since their undefeated season in 1997. It is only the fourth time in NCAA history that an FBS champion has achieved a perfect 15-0 record.
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “It couldn’t have gone better. We won every game just as we intended. Despite the off-the-field issues, we stood firm because we knew we were innocent.”
The Wolverines showcased their ground game prowess when it mattered most, rushing for 303 yards and four touchdowns on 38 attempts. Despite initial challenges, Michigan’s quarterback J.J. McCarthy made critical plays throughout the game. He completed 10 of 18 passes for 140 yards and contributed to the team’s offensive success.
As the final whistle blew, the Wolverines basked in their well-deserved victory. Corum expressed his gratitude and faith, saying, “Blessed. God blessed this team.”
