Naa Saami Ranga Telugu Movie Review: Nagarjuna shines in this village drama with a 3/5 rating

Hyderabad, India – Akkineni Nagarjuna’s latest film, Naa Saami Ranga, was released in theaters today and has garnered decent attention. The film, directed by Vijay Binni and produced by Srinivasa Chitturi, stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Allari Naresh, Raj Tarun, Ashika Ranganath, Mirnaa Menon, Rukshar Dhillon, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Ravi Varma, Nassar, Rao Ramesh, and Madhusudan Rao. The music for the film is composed by M. M. Keeravani, with cinematography by Dasaradhi Sivendra and editing by Chota K. Prasad.

The story takes place in Ambajipeta village, where President Peddayya (played by Nasser) helps Kistayya’s (played by Nagarjuna) family during a crisis. Kistayya, who is loyal to Peddayya, loves Mahalaxmi, also known as Varalu (played by Ashika Ranganath). However, an unexpected incident leads to their separation. Dasu (played by Shabeer Kallarakkal), Peddayya’s son, wants to harm Kistayya and his brother Anji (played by Allari Naresh). The film explores the reasons behind the rivalry, the split between Varalu and Kistayya, and the connection of Bhaskar (played by Raj Tarun) to the story.

Nagarjuna impresses with his enduring charm, mass appeal, and striking looks, delivering a convincing performance as an elder brother and loyalist to Nasser. Ashika Ranganath deserves praise for taking on a character beyond her age and captivating the audience with her beauty and acting skills, especially in scenes alongside Nagarjuna. Allari Naresh entertains and leaves a lasting impression, particularly in the second half. The music composed by MM Keeravaani effectively sets the emotional tones, and the well-designed pre-climax and climax scenes add to the film’s appeal. The supporting cast also delivers satisfactory performances.

However, the film’s storyline lacks novelty for Telugu audiences, and the screenplay could have been handled more effectively. The characters played by Raj Tarun, Shabeer, and Rukshar Dhillon could have been given more depth. A faster-paced screenplay and better portrayal of the emotional bond between Allari Naresh and Nagarjuna could have enhanced the overall impact.

In terms of technical aspects, Vijay Binni’s directorial debut is handled effectively, but a more focused effort on a gripping screenplay could have yielded better results. MM Keeravaani’s impressive background score effectively captures the right mood for love, action, and sadness. The film’s editing, cinematography, and production values are also noteworthy.

In conclusion, Naa Saami Ranga is a watchable village drama that delivers decent performances from Nagarjuna, Allari Naresh, and Ashika Ranganath. However, the film’s slow-paced first half and lack of significant highlight sequences are its main drawbacks. While it may not appeal to all sections of the audience, it promises enjoyment for mass and family audiences this festive season.
