NBA Postpones Golden State Warriors-Utah Jazz Game After Assistant Coach’s Hospitalization

SALT LAKE CITY – Wednesday’s highly anticipated NBA game between the Golden State Warriors and the Utah Jazz has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. The unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday night, when Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojević suffered a medical emergency during a private team dinner. Milojević has since been hospitalized in Salt Lake City but no further details about his condition have been released by the team.

The NBA, in an effort to prioritize the health and well-being of its players and staff, has decided to reschedule the game for a later date. While the specific details of the postponement have not been announced, fans can expect the matchup to take place at another time in the future.

Dejan Milojević joined the Golden State Warriors coaching staff in August 2021, with a primary focus on developing center James Wiseman. The team had high hopes for Wiseman, selecting him as the second pick in the 2020 draft. However, his rookie season showcased the need for further development and refinement of his skills.

Milojević, known for his expertise in coaching big men, has had an impressive career working with renowned players such as Nikola Jokić and Ivica Zubac. His ability to nurture talent and unleash their full potential is widely recognized. Even though the Warriors ultimately decided to trade Wiseman to the Detroit Pistons in February 2023, the impact of Milojević’s coaching was still evident. Forward Kevon Looney, for example, credited the assistant coach for his improved rebounding skills.

The Golden State Warriors organization is closely monitoring Milojević’s situation and will provide updates on his condition as appropriate. In the meantime, the team and fans alike are sending their thoughts and well-wishes to the coach during this challenging time.
