Netflix’s Monster Season 2: Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny to Portray Infamous Menendez Couple

LOS ANGELES – Netflix has announced the casting of actors Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny for the second season of its crime anthology series, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.” Bardem and Sevigny will star alongside Nicholas Chavez and Cooper Koch in the show, which explores the infamous murder case of Lyle and Erik Menendez. The first season of the series, “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” became one of Netflix’s most popular English-language series when it premiered last September.

The Menendez case, which took place in 1989, captivated the nation as Lyle and Erik were accused of killing their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in their Beverly Hills home. The brothers eventually confessed to the crime, alleging that they had suffered years of abuse at the hands of their father. Their high-profile trial was broadcast on Court TV and drew comparisons to the O.J. Simpson trial. The brothers were convicted in 1996 and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.

The upcoming season of “Monsters” will delve into the gripping story of the Menendez family and the events that led to the tragic murders. The show aims to shed light on the motivations and circumstances surrounding the crime, offering a fresh perspective on the case that continues to capture public interest.

In addition to the series, Netflix is also working on a documentary about the Menendez brothers, featuring exclusive access to the subjects. The streaming platform has not yet revealed the details of the third chapter of the “Monster” anthology.

Javier Bardem, known for his roles in films such as “No Country for Old Men” and “Skyfall,” will portray Jose Menendez, while Chloë Sevigny, who has appeared in projects like “Boys Don’t Cry” and “American Psycho,” will play Kitty Menendez. Both actors bring a wealth of talent and experience to the project, promising to deliver riveting performances.

The announcement of Bardem and Sevigny’s casting has generated anticipation among fans of true crime and the “Monster” series. With Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan at the helm as creators and executive producers, the second season is expected to offer a compelling exploration of the Menendez case.

“Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” is set to continue Netflix’s streak of captivating true crime content, engaging viewers with its in-depth storytelling and talented cast. The series is set to premiere in the near future, and fans eagerly await the release of this next chapter in the “Monster” anthology.
