SEOUL, South Korea – South Korean actors Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun are set to star in a new drama called “Good Boy.” The drama, which will air on the JTBC network, is an action-packed comic series that follows a group of former Olympic gold medalists who become special police officers to combat violent crime. The actors will play the lead roles of Yoon Dong Joo and Ji Han Na respectively.
Yoon Dong Joo, portrayed by Park Bo Gum, is a former Olympic gold medalist boxer who joins the Special Violent Crime Unit as a police officer. After experiencing despair, he discovers a new purpose in life and rediscovers his fighting instincts while facing injustices. Kim So Hyun’s character, Ji Han Na, is an Olympic gold medalist in shooting. She quits shooting following a traumatic incident and becomes a police officer. Although she appears calm and collected, she is honest and straightforward when it comes to both love and work.
The drama will be written by Lee Dae Il, known for his work on “Chief of Staff” and “Life on Mars,” and directed by Shim Na Yeon, who has worked on “Beyond Evil” and “The Good Bad Mother.” According to the production team, “Good Boy” will showcase the story of Olympic heroes who join forces to fight against violent crimes that are filled with unethical behavior and foul play.
“Good Boy” is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2024. Fans are eagerly awaiting the unique synergy between Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun as they portray characters with their own compelling backstories.
