Sony Pictures Animation has been rumored to be developing a female-led spin-off featuring “Spider-Woman” for several years. Yet, it seems that these plans have yet to materialize, leaving fans divided over Sony’s approach to its Marvel characters.

Spider-Punk, or Hobie Brown, made his debut in 2014’s “Edge of Spider-Verse #5.” This version of Spider-Man is a punk rocker who gains spider-powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider. With his countercultural spirit and distinctive punk aesthetic, Spider-Punk fights against oppression and injustice.
In “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” Spider-Punk started as a love rival to Miles Morales but later joined forces with the young hero. Daniel Kaluuya expressed his excitement about playing the character, stating that it felt authentic to be able to bring his Camden roots into the role.
