Mumbai, India – After an absence of nearly a decade, Bollywood power couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are gearing up to share the silver screen once again. Known for their chemistry in films like ‘Tashan’ and ‘Kurbaan’, the couple hasn’t appeared in a movie together since 2012. However, in a recent interview, Saif revealed that they are considering a new project, stating, “We are thinking of doing something.”
During the interview with Film Companion, Kareena divulged that Saif had previously been hesitant about working together due to their past movie failures. She explained that he used to say, “no, no, it’s not good to work together… it’s not interesting,” in reference to flops like ‘Tashan’ and ‘Agent Vinod’. However, they have now found a script that appeals to both of them and are optimistic about the outcome.
Saif also shared some details about the project, expressing that it will take into account their real-life marriage. He mentioned, “We are actually working on something and trying to come up with a… something that takes into account that we are married, so play against that a little bit. It is a work in progress.”
For Kareena, the prospect of working together “at this stage” of their careers is exciting. She emphasized the comfort they have as actors and the opportunity to explore something different. Saif, on the other hand, jokingly suggested that they might not live together during the filming process. He humorously stated, “I might not live with you when I am making the movie, I have decided. I will take another room,” to which Kareena laughed and responded, “It’s fine.”
The story of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor began on the set of ‘Tashan’, a film directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, which unfortunately didn’t click with audiences. Their subsequent collaboration with Sriram Raghavan on ‘Agent Vinod’ also failed to make a mark at the box office. However, their film ‘Kurbaan’ managed to fare decently, providing a glimmer of hope for their on-screen reunion.
