SBS Unveils Star-Studded Lineup of Exciting New Dramas for 2024

SEOUL, South Korea — SBS, a major South Korean television network, has unveiled its drama lineup for 2024, offering viewers an exciting array of star-studded dramas to look forward to in the coming year. The network teased a diverse range of genres, from crime investigation thrillers to romance and fantasy dramas.

One of the highly anticipated dramas is “Flex x Cop,” which follows the story of Jin Yi Soo, an immature third-generation chaebol who becomes a detective due to his privileged background, and Lee Kang Hyun, a workaholic veteran detective who is the first female team leader in the Homicide Department. The drama is set to premiere on January 26 and will air every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. KST.

Another much-awaited drama is “The Revival of the Seven,” the second season of the hit drama “The Escape of the Seven.” This revenge story revolves around a man’s quest to become the king of a castle built on fake news, and the counterattack of seven individuals against evil. The drama features a star-studded cast including Uhm Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, and Lee Yoo Bi. “The Revival of the Seven” is scheduled to premiere in March 2024.

“Connection,” a crime investigation thriller, explores the dynamics of a distorted friendship while unraveling the mystery behind the death of a high school friend who left behind a substantial insurance sum. The drama reunites director Lee Tae Gon and writer Lee Hyun, known for their previous collaboration on JTBC’s “Diary of a Prosecutor.” The series stars Ji Sung as a well-respected detective and Jeon Mi Do as an outspoken reporter.

For fans of comedy crime dramas, “Not Very Strong But Charming Violent Crimes Unit” promises a delightful watch. The storyline follows the transformation of the country’s lowest-ranking violent crimes unit into the nation’s top team when they are paired with a highly skilled team leader. The drama, penned by renowned screenwriters Lee Young Chul and Lee Kwang Jae, features Kim Dong Wook as the intelligent and athletic head of the homicide squad.

In “Acquaintances,” the prickly and aloof CEO of a headhunting company, Ji Yoon, finds herself being taken care of by her highly competent secretary, Eun Ho, who is not only excellent at his job but also childcare and housework. The drama showcases the chemistry between Han Ji Min and Lee Joon Hyuk.

The romance fantasy drama “The Judge From Hell” centers around a demon from hell who possesses the body of Judge Kang Bit Na, with a mission to punish remorseless individuals responsible for the death of others. Along the way, she meets Han Da On, a warm-hearted detective. The drama stars Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young.

To the delight of its fans, the popular drama “The Fiery Priest” will be returning for a second season. The Catholic priest Kim Hae Il, known for his anger management issues, and a cowardly detective collaborate to solve a murder case. The first season recorded impressive viewership ratings, and the second season is reported to comprise 12 episodes.

Lastly, “Good Partner,” an upcoming drama, revolves around an expert divorce lawyer. The series will feature Jang Nara, Nam Ji Hyun, Kim Jun Han, and P.O. The broadcast details are still being finalized.
