LOS ANGELES – Production for the second season of Apple TV+’s hit series “Severance” has resumed after a year and a half hiatus caused by strikes in the industry. The show, which revolves around the shady corporation Lumon Industries, had initially begun filming in October 2022. However, the writers and actors strikes halted production, leaving fans on the edge of their seats with a cliffhanger ending at the conclusion of season one.
Executive producer and director Ben Stiller confirmed the news on Monday, expressing his excitement to be back on set. Stiller stated, “We are thrilled and delighted to be back on set for the exciting second chapter of ‘Severance.’ Though we don’t know how long we’ve been gone or who we are outside, we are told people enjoy the show and we couldn’t be happier. In addition to the return of Adam Scott in the lead role, the second season of “Severance” will feature eight new cast members. Alia Shawkat from “Search Party,” Gwendoline Christie from “Game of Thrones,” and Merritt Wever from “Unbelievable” are among the new recruits. Bob Balaban, Robby Benson, Stefano Carannate, John Noble, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson have also joined the ensemble.
