Mumbai, India – Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan had an exceptional year in 2023 with the releases of “Pathaan” and “Jawan,” which set new records at the box office. However, his final film of the year, “Dunki,” failed to meet the high expectations set by his previous works. On the other hand, Salman Khan’s highly anticipated film, “Tiger 3,” co-starring Katrina Kaif, was a big Diwali release, but it couldn’t match the success of “Pathaan” and “Jawan.” Nevertheless, audiences still found “Tiger 3” to be a satisfying film.
Director Sanjay Gupta, famous for his film “Kaante,” expressed his opinion that “Tiger 3” would have had a different outcome if it had been released before “Jawan.” Gupta took to social media and mentioned that Atlee, the director of “Jawan,” had set a new benchmark with every scene he shot.
Although “Tiger 3” performed well at the box office, it couldn’t reach the heights of “Pathaan,” “Jawan,” and “Gadar 2.” “Jawan,” directed by Atlee, emerged as the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2023, crossing the 1000 crore mark worldwide. In comparison, “Tiger 3,” helmed by Maneesh Sharma, raked in 450 crore worldwide.
While Shah Rukh Khan’s films received critical acclaim, “Jawan” garnered attention for its chemistry between Khan and Deepika Padukone, despite Padukone only appearing in a cameo. Fans were delighted to witness their on-screen pairing.
Looking ahead, Khan revealed in an interview that he is set to begin shooting his next film in March/April 2024. Although he did not disclose the project, reports suggest that he will be working on Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film, alongside his daughter Suhana Khan.
In summary, Shah Rukh Khan had a tremendous year in 2023 with his blockbuster releases “Pathaan” and “Jawan.” Although “Tiger 3” couldn’t match the success of his films, it still fared well at the box office. With the anticipation of his next project, Khan’s fans eagerly await his return to the silver screen.
