London, England – “The Masked Singer” panellist Davina McCall recently made an emotional revelation about her experience on the show. The popular ITV program, now in its fifth season, features McCall alongside Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, and guest star Charlie Simpson. During an appearance on “The One Show,” McCall disclosed that one celebrity’s unmasking left her in tears.
While McCall remained tight-lipped about the identity of the celebrity, she expressed her strong emotional reaction. She described how she pleaded with the show’s producers to allow her on stage when the reveal happened. However, her request was denied. McCall admitted that she broke down and sobbed, confessing, “I know this person very well.”
In the season’s premiere episode, the first unmasking revealed Weather, who turned out to be legendary singer Dionne Warwick. McCall, Simpson, and Ross correctly deduced her identity. Warwick expressed her gratitude for the experience, despite being eliminated after her performance of “I Can See Clearly Now.”
In addition to her role on “The Masked Singer,” McCall also appeared in the recent “Doctor Who” Christmas special, portraying a fictionalized version of herself. She shared her excitement about the opportunity, noting that she rearranged her schedule to make it possible. McCall revealed that she has been a fan of the show since childhood, with Jon Pertwee as her first Doctor.
