BURBANK, California – Tom Cruise has signed a new strategic partnership deal with Warner Bros, Discovery CEO David Zaslav, and Co-Chairs and CEOs of the Motion Picture Group, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy. This deal, which takes effect this year, will see Cruise develop and produce original and franchise theatrical titles in which he will star. The actor and producer will have an office on the Burbank lot of Warner Bros.
Cruise previously worked with Warner Bros on several projects including the sci-fi action film “Edge of Tomorrow” in 2014. However, this new deal does not make Warner Bros his exclusive studio partner. Cruise will also continue to work with Paramount where he is shooting “Mission: Impossible 8” and Universal where he is working on a $200 million movie set in space, directed by Doug Liman. There are no projects currently in the works for Cruise under this new deal.
De Luca and Abdy expressed their excitement about working with the legendary actor and their goal to rebuild Warner Bros to its former glory. They spoke highly of Cruise’s talent and the impact he will have on future films. Cruise himself expressed his admiration for Warner Bros Discovery and his commitment to making great movies.
Cruise’s career has been filled with success and accolades. His recent film “Top Gun: Maverick” became his highest-grossing film, earning $1.49 billion worldwide and an Oscar. His last “Mission: Impossible” installment also performed well, making $567.5 million worldwide.
This new partnership between Cruise and Warner Bros signals a continued commitment to creating quality films and bringing the actor’s talent to the big screen.
