Carrollton, Georgia – Julian Lewis, the No. 1 prospect in the 2026 class according to 247Sports, has announced that he will reclassify and join the 2025 recruiting cycle. Lewis, the quarterback for Carrollton High School, is currently committed to USC but will also consider other schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, and Texas.
During his first two seasons in high school, Lewis has established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the country. As a freshman, he led Carrollton to the state title game in the largest class in Georgia, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 48 touchdowns. In his sophomore season, he continued to impress with over 3,000 passing yards and 48 touchdowns.
Lewis has been recognized for his exceptional play, winning the MaxPreps Freshman of the Year and Sophomore of the Year awards. He was also a finalist for Gatorade’s National Player of the Year Award, alongside two other highly touted recruits.
The decision to reclassify to the 2025 class has been expected for a while, as USC did not recruit another quarterback in the current cycle. However, the Trojans will now have to fend off other schools in order to keep Lewis committed.
Alabama and Georgia have been recruiting Lewis heavily, and he sees great opportunities at both schools. Michigan is a new program in the mix, fresh off a national championship. Lewis also has a longstanding relationship with Steve Sarkisian, the head coach at Texas, and Tino Sunseri, the quarterbacks coach at Indiana.
Lewis will have the chance to showcase his skills in the All-American Bowl after his final high school season.
