Chicago is bidding farewell to a beloved character in the upcoming 11th season of “Chicago P.D.” Tracy Spiridakos, who portrays Detective Hailey Upton, will be exiting the show. However, fans can rest assured that her departure will not be rushed. Showrunner Gwen Sigan confirmed that Spiridakos will remain on the show for the entirety of Season 11, giving the writers ample time to craft a satisfying conclusion for her character.
Spiridakos first appeared on “Chicago P.D.” in a recurring role during Season 4 before joining the main cast in Season 5. Last season, her character faced the challenges of her husband Jay Halstead’s departure. With their marriage left hanging in uncertainty, Sigan has promised closure for that storyline in the upcoming season.
While Upton’s departure is confirmed, there is still speculation about the possible return of Jesse Lee Soffer’s character, Halstead. Sigan revealed that there are currently no plans to bring him back, but never say never.
Fans of the show can look forward to Season 11 premiering on January 17 at 10/9c on NBC. With Upton’s exit looming, it will surely be an emotional and highly anticipated season for viewers.
