SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Tragedy struck a tiny private island in the eastern Caribbean as actor Christian Oliver and his two daughters lost their lives in a plane crash, authorities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines confirmed.
The incident took place near Petit Nevis island, just west of Bequia, on Thursday. The ill-fated plane was en route to St. Lucia when it crashed, police stated.
Identified by authorities, the daughters were Madita Klepser, aged 10, and Annik Klepser, aged 12. The pilot, Robert Sachs, also perished in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains unknown, according to the police, who are still investigating the incident.
Local fishermen and divers rushed to the crash site to lend their assistance, while the St. Vincent and Grenadines Coast Guard mobilized to the area. The bravery and selflessness of the fishermen and divers were commended by the police.
Christian Oliver, a 51-year-old actor born in Germany, had an extensive repertoire of notable film and television roles. He appeared in the 2008 film “Speed Racer” and a 2006 World War II movie by Steven Soderbergh called “The Good German,” alongside George Clooney and Cate Blanchett. Additionally, he had a recurring role as a Swiss transfer student named Brian Keller in season two of the 1990s series “Saved by the Bell: The New Class.”
