LOS ANGELES (AP) — The third and final season of the time-travel drama series “La Brea” is currently airing, leaving fans eagerly wondering about the whereabouts of the character Eve. Following a cliffhanger ending in Season 2, viewers are left questioning if Eve will make an appearance at all in the show’s last season.
Created by NBC in 2021, “La Brea” follows the Harris family who are separated when a sinkhole opens up in Los Angeles. Eve and her teenage son Josh are transported back in time to 10,000 BC, while her husband Gavin and their daughter Izzy remain in the present day. The show centers around the family’s struggles to reunite.
“La Brea” premiered its third season on January 9, 2024, consisting of only six episodes. Although the opening episode provides a clue about Eve’s possible location and how the Harris family could find her, it still remains unclear where Eve is and if she will be seen in the final season.
In the Season 2 finale, Eve is trapped in a malfunctioning time travel portal and transported to another time period. The Season 3 premiere, titled “Sierra,” hints at how the show will handle Eve’s reduced screen-time. An actress with similar appearance stood in for Eve in a flashback scene, but was only viewed from behind or below the neck and never spoke.
According to reports, actress Natalie Zea, who portrays Eve, will have a limited presence in the show’s farewell season. Zea did not join the rest of the cast for on-location filming in Australia, as all her Season 3 scenes were filmed in Los Angeles. Showrunner David Appelbaum explained that the production had to navigate “actor availability issues” and the challenges of filming across continents during a pandemic.
Despite the disappointment of the series coming to an end, fans are hopeful for a reunion of the Harris family. As “La Brea” airs its final episodes, viewers are left eagerly anticipating the resolution of Eve’s story and the ultimate fate of the characters in this time-travel drama.
